“One of a kind zig- zag façade”

ARE FLAT FACADES BECOMING BORING?

Our client, Laudis Developments has successfully launched Parallel Apartments, a multi-residential development that clearly responds to the proposed identity of the precinct with a ten storey residential tower that is set back on the three storey podium, with four levels oriented to the river. The ground level contains the residential entry, single small commercial tenancy, and vehicular access to the service areas and parking. The facades are a clear respond to its context, The proposed zig-zagging cantilevers around each balcony provides a visual rhythm that vivifies the façade. These angular sunshades also act as a privacy screen to the generously proportioned balconies. The cantilevers shade the outdoor rooms in summer but let in winter sun act as a thermal buffer for the internal spaces. The architecture with its sense of rippling movement, complements the river. Each balcony frames a view of either the city lights, the park on the eastern side, or the river.
