Connecting in with out

When designing this compact South Perth home, our goal was to connect the inside to the outside. The site had an abundance of established vegetation including several magnificent trees which became an integral part of our design.

We used large and expansive glazed facades throughout the main living areas to create a sense of space, allow in plenty of natural light and provide framed views of the trees and gardens outside.

Entry is through a sleek gatehouse nestled under a canopy of green; symbolic of the residence’s connection with nature.

A single glass door channels views to a private central courtyard with a developing London Plane Tree as its centrepiece.

The neutral palette of the interior allows the warmth of the timber floorboards and the surrounding vegetation to become the home’s most prominent features.
