Fusion Apartments on Burswood’s riverside peninsula are in a unique pocket of urban renewal close to the junction of Great Eastern Highway and the Graham Farmer Freeway. Configured over seven levels, the project consists of 88 one and two-bedroom apartments of various sizes, primarily focused on providing a range of affordable housing.
Its close proximity to Perth’s major entertainment precinct and new football oval inspired the project’s name; a fusion of urban excitement and riverside calm.
Our vision for Fusion was to exceed the high quality of building design already demonstrated in other Hillam Architects-designed apartments. The entry and commercial spaces are sheltered by a ‘zig-zagged’ concrete canopy, commanding attention. Importantly, the apartments were designed to enhance the public domain and provide both luxury and entry-level housing. The highly-articulated form, coupled with a diverse range of strong materials sympathetic to the site, ensure the striking, contemporary exterior is a positive addition to the streetscape and equally visible from the Freeway.
We have many years’ experience in environmentally-sustainable apartment projects and were commissioned to implement these principles in the Fusion development.
