The West Australian has reported the start of works for Harper on Swan for Edge Visionary Living (EVL) on the South Perth riverfront. Journalist Kim Macdonald spoke to EVL’s managing director Gavin Hawkins on the nature of Perth’s “double-speed apartment economy”, in which construction costs are favouring the development of luxury apartments.
“The Hillam Architects-designed complex includes two private dining rooms and two lounge areas. The duplication ensured there was always one available for residents if the other was booked out for a private party.
“His favourite room was the library, which had proved one of the more popular features with older demographics at other developments. The cosy, slightly moodier rooms are in stark contrast to the earthier tones in the apartments.”
